New Delhi: The Prime Minister’s outfit is becoming a source of controversy.
The government’s chief spokesman, Manish Sisodia, tweeted on Thursday: “What a shame to have a Prime Minister wearing a mask while holding the key to power.”
Mr Sisoda’s comments came after the Prime Minister had to step down from his official post in an attempt to avoid being dragged into the allegations.

The controversy started on Friday when the Prime Minster’s chief secretary and aide were accused of having sex with a 19-year-old woman in an upscale hotel in New York City.
The allegations led to an investigation by the New York Police Department.
On Monday, Mr Sisoderas office tweeted that the PM had been advised by the chief secretary to wear a mask.
The Chief Secretary’s office also tweeted that he was asked to wear the mask for safety reasons.
Mr Sisyadias wife, a woman in her 50s, was also said to have been in the room with the alleged sex partners.
He said the pair had asked for the masks so they could stay at the hotel.
“I have a wife and a family, I am not ashamed to wear one.
I am wearing a protective mask for my safety,” Mr Sisyadi said.
A spokesperson for the Chief Secretary said the two had been staying at the Hotel La Belle, a landmark hotel in Manhattan, and the woman was staying at another hotel.
The Chief Secretary also said the woman had asked to be taken to the hotel to sleep in her room.
“She had a conversation with two of them and they requested her to wear her protective mask,” he said.
“She was given permission to wear it.
I have instructed the officials in charge of the protection of the public not to allow them to be seen in public wearing the mask.”
The Prime Minister has been facing allegations of sexual misconduct against a number of women.
